Bought our Samsung 56 inch TV 2/2008, first week of April no power. Repair person sent, ordered power replacement part, turned on, now picture has ych color, pixels..he said it was fine. While he was here asked them to send different repair company.
Next company came, need new light engine to correct color and pic. Waiting for part...also called Samsung to request replacement set due to so many major problems...10-15 calls later with promises and changes of timeline they have for returning calls (24 hrs, 48 hrs...5 days) NO CALLS RETURNED!
Attorney sent letter...no response...Now call from service center...no part available they (Samsung) want to have service people rebuild part...I don't think so...that means having them pick up TV and they can not provide timeline for return...
My advice...DO NOT PURCHASE SAMSUNG...I did not by extened Warranty...but when I called Circuit City...they said I would have had to go to Samsung first...second advice...DO NOT PURCHASE FROM CIRCUIT CITY...
Also of concern is odor TV produced once warm...anyone know if toxicity in fumes?
I have sent a letter to this states Attorney General and am sending a letter to the local police station in New Jersey as I believe the employees of the call center are providing false information (ie when to expect a return call, timelines..) as a condition of their employment with this company.
Yes...I am p....ed!

My girlfriend is going through this right now. Samsung and their 'ECR' deptartment are a complete utter utter joke.
On her $2500 refridgerator they sent a guy out 4 times who ended up writiing 'junk' in marker pen all over the unit. They then wouldnt do an exchange only a refund (-if that isnt a vote of no confidence for your own product i dont know what is). This has been going on since february and here we are a week from september with no refund as promised on numerous numerous occasions.
I'm filing a law suit in a small claims court monday morning, but I will never ever buy anything Samsung ever again. I can handle faults now and again, but the customer 'service' is disgraceful.

2/08--46" LCD Samsung purchased from Best Buy
5/08--TV picture goes blank but still has audio.
5/08--Samsung misses their own timelines in callbacks and setting up repairs.
Late 5/08--Samsung chooses a repair company (they have no service center in my area) and the TV is picked up.
6/08--TV repair shop chosen by Samsung misses callbacks and tells me they don't know the status of the repair when I call for inquiry.
7/08--TV repair shop chosen by samsung takes 35 days to try 3 parts, all of which don't work. Samsung deems the TV unrepairable and offers an exchange.
Middle 7/08--Samsung ECR lets me know the TV they offered for exchange is on backorder.
8/08--Exchange TV arrives and is cracked so I don't accept it. I'm told to wait another two weeks. I ask to exchange the TV in the store I bought it from and I'm told that will be impossible unless I wait three days.
$2500 FOR A TV THAT FAILS IN 3 MONTHS. 3 MONTHS LATER AND SAMSUNG CANNOT PROVIDE A WORKING PRODUCT. SAMSUNG AND ITS ECR DEPT ARE COMPLETELY INEPT, THEY SUCK AT THEIR JOBS AND THE ONLY ANSWER IS TO NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY SAMSUNG.

just called them. The guy said "you are out of warranty" and then dead silence. I said "I expected that a high end washer/dryer would last longer, not less than the cheap ones I have always used." Again, silence.
DON'T BUY SAMSUNG!!!

13 months ago I purchased a, what I thought, top of the line Samsung washer and dryer. $2K.
Sunday it broke (the belt came off) and I called samsung support. They said to call an affiliated repair shop. The guy came out, fixed it, and charged me $140. It was one month out of warranty.
My rental property has a cheap washer and dryer, still running great after 4 years.
And I was just about to buy a Samsung TV...I think not.
